Past, Present, Future Events
I keep a calendar / "date book" on my Kindle of things we need to do: doctor or other appointments, meetings, church services and other events, visits from or to people, etc.
Saturday, June 21st is my brother's birthday. The collage below shows him from a newborn in June of 1961, through early childhood, standing next to my husband Mike in our wedding, as a young adult in his 20's when in the Marines, a picture of him a couple of years ago, and finally -- just this past Monday when we ate out at the Japanese steakhouse.
We ate lots of different foods as we were growing up from many cultures: American, Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Indian, Italian, etc.
One of our favorites was a curry meal that a nurse friend who had spent time in India, taught us to make. We are planning to have that with my brother this weekend. I'll have pictures of that when we have it all laid out on the dinner table.
I recently took Mom to get her hair cut and permed again. I think she really looks pretty! Speaking of haircuts, my daughter-in-law put up a picture of our son and their son after their haircuts.
A lot of people see the similarity of my husband and our younger son. Here is a collage to show the likenesses. (I included the final picture for Michel, even though it is from about 3 years ago, since you said that you wanted to see a picture with me in it.
I saw this quote by Mother Teresa on someone's Facebook page this week, and had to have it to share here. It is such a great bit of wisdom!

It is true, Carolyn, your youngest son looks like your husband.
A special thanks to have your own photo included in the last collage .
Your mother is rejuvenated with her new haircut.
The words of Mother Theresa makes me think of the Beatitudes ?
Love
Michel
Yes, Michel... the words of Mother Teresa when put into action will bring blessing as in the Beatitudes. ♥
There is a very strong resemblance between your husband and his son AND between son and grandson! I love the quote from Mother Teresa!
I thought so, too. It's funny with the grandkids... sometimes they look like one parent, or aunt or uncle or grandparent or sibling... and other times another!
Thanks for sharing pictures of your family, and even one of you! Our oldest son was born in Jan. 1961. His sister is 15 mo's older. How come I have such old kids?
Gracia, I know! I'm asking myself that all of the time ... how did I come to have such old kids!
your family has a strong gene pool for sure! Actually I think you all have a similarity....look at those smiles! I love the Mother Teresa quote too! Have a blessed weekend!
I do love looking at various pictures of family members to see if I can find similarities.
Blessings for a great Sunday!
I like Mother Theresa
no one loved the way she did except Christ.
I have nieces and nephews who look like their aunts and uncles more then their mom or dad. There are 8 of us so even see grandkids and greatgrandkids look like the grands.
Mother Teresa was a very special person who truly showed God's love to people.
I love seeing family pics; perhaps sometime you'll put up pictures of you all
at a family reunion?
The resemblance is there for sure. I like the Mother Teresa quote. Your mom does look nice.
Loved those photos. I am loving family photos more in this stage of life.
blessings, Carolyn
frank
I've always loved family photos.
Even as as a young person, I'd
encourage parents and grandparents
to show me their mates and offspring.
Thank you for enjoying mine, too!
I like it when you put your family pics up.
Blessings on your Sunday.
Hey Carolyn, RYC - We had four children, our oldest son passed in 2003 (I hate cancer) He had two children and his son has one son and one on the way. Our second son has two children, Nash is his son who is our official tomato finder
, then we have twin daughters who are about to turn 28, one of the girls is married and one is still trying to finish college. So four children, four grandchildren, one great grandchild and two daughter-in-laws. Funny thing is when I was young I thought I didn't want children, in fact none of them were planned but all of them are blessings <3! Thanks for asking, I never get tired of talking about the family, and I never get tired of hearing about other families
I hate cancer, too, Marsha. I'm sorry that you lost your son to that horrid disease.
You have such a nice family! Is your profile picture of you with your twin girls?
You forgot to mention in your list of offspring, etc. -- your son-in-law.
It is funny how things change -- like our feelings about having children!
I too love to both hear about (& talk about) children and other family members.
We are both blessed! ♥ ♥
There are some great pictures.
I've always tried to live by Mother T's. last sentence...about it being between just the 2 of us anyway.
Thanks, Gail. And I agree with you about Mother T.'s summation: It is between God and each of us!
I just sent you a friend request on Facebook. I hadn't seen you on Xanga for such a long time.
I also just read your two posts on Xanga that you just put up. I am keeping on Xanga until my year
runs out, and then I will just continue with WordPress and FB, rather than paying for Xanga. I'll
miss not being over here, but just can't justify putting out the $ when WP &FB are free.
Thanks for stopping by to see me.
Those Japanese restaurants are such fun! I love Japanese food.
Oh, your Mom is so beautiful! And her new 'do is so pretty! Give her a hug!
Your boys...all generations of them...are handsome!
Love the words from Mother Teresa!
Happy Weekend to all of you!
HUGS!!! and ♥ !!!
Have a wonderful, blessed Sunday, my friend!

♥ !!!
You are always such a loving friend, and kind! ♥
I'll pass on the love and hugs to Mom.
Hugs and ♥ to you, too!!
I love how you are able to make family so central in what you do! I miss being able to do that. I have to say I have never tried Japanese food. I do like to try different things, though. Our church is very international, and when we have "pot luck" meals, you can always count on a lot of different cuisine from many countries! I love that quote by Mother Theresa! Blessings on your week, sweet lady!
I love what we have to look forward to in Heaven -- being with 1. The Lord, 2. Those loved ones and Biblical "heroes" who have gone before us, and 3. having a massive worship service with people from every "tribe and tongue" to sing together "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty!" HUGS!
