Busy week and weekend!
Happy Father's Day to all of the Dad's out there!
We had a super busy week last week, with appointments and commitments each of the days -- Tuesday through Friday. I also did a lot of planting of flowers over the weekend. Sunday, after church, my brother stopped by at Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken, and brought lunch over to share with Mom, Mike, & me. Then Mom gave Mike 7? bags with various types of candies and cassette tapes of "olden days" radio programs, music, etc. to celebrate his Father's Day. Mike also heard from all three of our adult children, which he enjoyed.
This was our third Father's Day without Dad, but it wasn't a sad day - even though we all miss him, as we know that he's with our Heavenly Father.
Today would have been Mom & Dad's 67th anniversary. I woke up extra early (for me) and picked some flowers and grasses and put them into one of my vases, and put a "Thinking of you" sort of card, and put them at Mom's place at the table so that when she had her breakfast she would see them.
She then said she'd like to celebrate her anniversary, my brother's birthday (on the 21st), and Father's Day again ... with a meal at a Japanese restaurant where they cook in front of you (like another post I did ... only this time it will be another restaurant in town. We enjoyed a great time together and also with another couple who sat at the same table with the Grill Chef / Entertainer.
Finally ... our youngest grandchild Quinn turned one on June 10th. We had a gift bear and balloons sent to their home. We weren't able to make it to her party, but got pictures from FB.
The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. The wind blows, and we are gone— as though we had never been here. But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant of those who obey his commandments! (Psalm 103:13-18, NLT)

WOW! Sounds like you really have been busy! I am enjoying some days of rest after my time with the kids in N.Ireland. The pace there was crazy, and I was totally worn out. Like you, my father is in Heaven. I am so happy for him, but I do miss him. Quinn is adorable!
Thank you, Mae... Yes, it has been busy... but then, so have you been busy!! What fun being with your precious children! Yes... we look forward to seeing our earthly dads someday when we see our Heavenly Dad! ♥
A very busy time - I love that your collages show all the smiles! Father's Day was a quiet one here - my dad is gone and my FIL was at the hospital with my MIL. We had the boys' Godparents over for dinner and had a great time!
I'm glad you had a good time with your boys' Godparents... That sounds like a very special time.
I'm sorry to hear that your MIL was in the hospital. I hope that she is better.
Love those Japanese Steak houses! One of my favorite places to over eat!
It's good to know our Dad's are safe in heaven even though we miss them. Was nice you can be with your mom and keep her company on Father's Day. Love that last scripture. What a blessing!
Ha... I love what you said: "One of your favorite places to over eat!"
The servings that they give is incredible. Neither my husband nor I could
eat even half of what they gave us, so my son benefited from our smaller
appetites!
Yes, what a blessing to know our Dads' are safe and with our Heavenly Dad! ♥
That is some of my favorite Scripture. When I was in 6th grade I memorized all of
Psalm 103. I have been reviewing it this year, and have all but the last four verses
"re-memorized" (verses 19-22).
The sermon we heard Sunday featured that verse as one of the characteristics of a good dad ~ compassion ~
Sounds like a great Father's Day message! My Dad definitely had compassion! (My earthly one as well as our Heavenly Dad!)
you are so blessed to have such a wonderful big family
Thanks, Jill. I agree that I'm blessed!
what a lovely post! Blessings to you and yours!
Thank you, Marsha!
Blessings to you and yours as well!
Love all the smiling faces!

...and it is always special to share the memories and think of him!
Glad you've been busy with such good things and wonderful people!
You know where your Dad is...
My Dad passed of cancer. I missed him on Father's Day.
HUGS!!!
Thanks, Carolyn.
I thought things would slow down some this week, but it has been busy so far, and continues to be ... though not quite as busy as last week!
I didn't know your Dad had died of cancer, too. Yes, we miss our dad's on those special days especially. HUGS... and see you soon (at least on Xanga & WP)!
One of your sons in the picture you've posted, looks just like your husband, no? That's so neat! beautiful photos and lovely post.
The younger son looks very much like my husband. I will post some pics up soon that show them together.
Thank you for your sweet comments. I'm coming around to get caught up on my dear Zakiah today. HUGS! ♥

I love to share with you my family and faith, even as you do with me, Michel.
I always have a picture of me (with my husband) ... but I will post a new one
in my blog soon.
You are definitely not a complainer! But I am always wanting the best for you.
Love and prayers... Carolyn
I still think of my great dad and he died when I was 13---He was 71. Love your family--it is nice. I love family photos.
Looks like you had a nice time.
blessings
frank
Thank you, Frank. I too love to see family pictures of my friends. We did have a very nice time.
We never forget our Dads, do we! Blessings to you and Norma. Hugs to Rusty! ♥
Isn't the gift of weirdness one of the gifts listed in the Bible?!
Well, Carolyn... we are at least in good company. In Acts 26:24 in the version: The Message (MSG), Governor Felix said this about Paul who wrote most of the N.T.-- That was too much for Festus. He interrupted with a shout: “Paul, you’re crazy! You’ve read too many books, spent too much time staring off into space! Get a grip on yourself, get back in the real world!” LOL
