  • A BLESSED EASTER TO ALL!

I hope that you all had a wonderful Easter, and that the message of Easter is real to everyone.

Saturday, I had a special day with my friend Tess. She and I consider each other as sisters. happy We started out our day with having a yummy Chinese meal, then headed to an Oriental grocery store to purchase some items we needed, and then before heading home, we went to our Christian book store, where we saw some of our other friends from church.  Of course I had to purchase one of my favorite coffee drinks: Almond Joy!

I've met so many wonderful people here on Xanga since I began blogging back on Nov., 2005. Many I have continued to keep up with on Facebook, and a few more I have talked to by phone, and a few more, I've also had the privilege of meeting in person.
I thought I would introduce you to a beautiful young woman who recently got married, and who will be visiting with Tess and me this week (April 1-4)! They were married in the Philippines, but Joe had set it up so people around the world (whom he invited to watch it) could "be right there" at the wedding!! It was special to hear them say their vows, and see the venue, etc. (There were problems with the video portion.) Here is a picture I swiped from FB.

Here is another Facebook "steal" of the grandkids from today at the Easter party with their Mom's family.

I'll be visiting you around on your Xanga blogs... see you throughout the week.

The following song is one of the songs that our choir sang (the back up to the soloist)... it has a tremendous message!

I hope you enjoyed your St. Paddy Day... and even if you don't celebrate

it in any way, more importantly, I hope you had a very blessed Lord's Day.

I thought I'd share a few pictures today.  The first collage is from our

previous week when we celebrated the "wearing of the green."

The next 2 collages = update on what our two grandchildren look like now.

    1. Tristen's Daddy finally got to take her to a Dad/Daughter Dance at her school.

(Home from deployment; First two times of Dad/Daughter Dances, he was deployed).

     2. Father and son walking to favorite pizza restaurant in their town.

Right after he returned to U.S., we celebrated the two kids' birthdays

                here on two separate days.

Christmas 2012 Memories. This was the last time we saw them.

We look forward to seeing them soon, hopefully. (One reason I look

    forward to retirement!)

We went to visit my mom in Illinois, both at Thanksgiving (and then to

totally surprise her laughing) on Christmas evening. Our family was always

about Charles Schultz's Peanut's gang, especially at Christmas.

    1. The first collage shows the few decorations at our home;

    2. the second shows Mom's. There is a similar theme -- the true meaning

of Christmas, and our Peanut's and Dad memoirs.

    3. The third collage shows our surprise visit at Christmas. We took her our

poinsettia to enjoy and keep. The others in the photos are our niece Suzi

(my sister Ruth's daughter), and her husband and three children.

I'll end this posting with a great Bible verse promise that I put up recently on my Facebook:

This is it for now, but I'll be checking in with my friends.

    Hugs, blessings, and prayers .....

    Carolyn

  • Just Making a Quickie Appearance . . .

It's been a LONG time since I last blogged. I am looking towards SPRING & to retiring from teaching this year, and to having more time to do other things that I enjoy starting this summer.
I do miss blogging, and I have met so many wonderful people on Xanga, and so I hope to reconnect with those of you who are still here and are willing to reconnect with me. With many of my Xanga-made friends, I have been able to continue keeping up by means of Facebook.

The main things I will share to catch you up on my life is:           1. One year ago, January 26th, my precious Dad went Home to be with his Savior Whom he so faithfully served throughout his life.

    2. Our son came home from serving his year in Afghanistan with the Army National Guard (his 3rd deployment), and 3. He and his wife are now expecting their third child (& our third grand) -sometime in June!

Today I have been meditating upon God's plans and direction in the lives of His children. I thought I would share these precious verses with my friends.

Jeremiah 29:11, 13, 14-a  “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. . . If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord.

Jeremiah 10:23 I know, Lord, that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Psalm 37:23-24 The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.

Psalm 138:8-a The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.

Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Looking forward to catching up soon!
