  • Just to let you know .... "She'll be coming around the 'mountain' when she comes." -- "Mountain of Xanga!"

    Dear Friends,

I'm not putting up much tonight, other than to say I'm using my time to visit  all of you dear friends of mine.  Thank you for you sweet congratulations and comments.  I am still in the "land of the living" -- I've mainly been using my "extra" time to read to MomReading 2, and to try to do what needs to be done (including resting with cold packs, taking steroids & pain pills, etc.) .... the pain in my back and side are still pretty intense.  I did find out that I have arthritis in the spine, but I suspect that isn't really the problem.  Then Saturday night (i.e. - Sunday morning), I was in the E.R. from 2:30 - 9:30 with worsening pain. After a CT scan and being told that I had no problems with kidneys, appendix, etc.,  a friend brought us back home.  Today has been very painful, even with just sitting.  I called my doctor today, since nothing has really helped me yet.  Hopefully I will get in to see someone tomorrow, and we can find out what the source of all of this pain is! Meanwhile, life goes on whether one has pain or no pain.  I'm just thankful for friends and family and a God Who truly does care.

"God never allows pain without a purpose in the lives of His children. He never allows Satan, nor circumstances, nor any ill-intending person to afflict us unless He uses that affliction for our good. God never wastes pain. He always causes it to work together for our ultimate good, the good of conforming us more to the likeness of His Son (see Romans 8:28-29)."  ~ Jerry Bridges

My life verses: Rom. 8:28 -29 (God's Word Translation): "We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God—those whom he has called according to his plan. This is true because he already knew his people and had already appointed them to have the same form as the image of his Son. Therefore, his Son is the firstborn among many children."        Well, I'll see you around on your sites! Sunshine smiley

  • Hi Karen, I'm sorry to hear that your pain has worsened.
I loved your post over at Caroline's(adamswoman). Your answers to her questions.
I'm trying a new oxygen therapy treatment. I'll try to remember to let you know if I see any improvements with it. It is supposed to help with pain, and many things, as it helps the body to heal itself as God intended. Oxygen in the blood cells help the body to do its work of healing the body.
If you are interested in reading up on it, I purchased at iherb.com, Aquagen Essential Oxygen. I've found that any sort of detoxing helps.
I had to take prescription meds (Flexeril) last Friday for spasms and that set me back by three days. I had to take them though. The stress of my housing situation is wreaking havoc on my body... pushing to hard... to much to be done. Doesn't help much though when the meds take me down for 3 days... but I guess I'd be down no matter what. :-( At least I could start to eat again.
Sorry to share all this... but I'm guessing you can relate. I hope you can get to feeling better. (((hugs))) Lynn

  • I forgot...
I was going to mention that something that has helped me alot, is I pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet daily... it's on the radio and callers call in for prayer...
the host of the show Drew Mariani often talks about how when God gives us pain and suffering that we can offer that up as sacrifice in prayer for others. Many of the Saints were afflicted also. So I feel that I am called to a life of prayer and to offer up my suffering for the sake of others. It helps.
    Many blessings to you. <3

  • Thank you, Lynn. I'm glad that you liked those answers. Re: the oxygen therapy treatment, I will plan to read up on it. I've been trying various things -- massage therapy, pool/hot tub, rest, steroids (from my doctor), etc. I also plan to try reflexology treatment. It would be nice to know the "Why" of this pain. So far we don't know why suddenly I'm having it.
I agree with what Drew said about pain and suffering... I've tried to hold to that over the years. I have had some really good times of prayer and being in the Word in the times of some of my worst pain over the years.
Thank you for sharing with me, Lynn.
I hope that you feel better, too. Also that you will be able to have peace in the midst of the stressful housing situation.
    Love, hugs, prayers, & blessings. ♥ ♥ ♥ :-)

  • :-( Oh, I am so sorry to hear that your pain is still so intense. :-( It makes it even more difficult not knowing why you are having it. :-( It is helpful when they rule out things...but I know you'd like to know what is happening.

You know you have my ♥ and prayers!

Jerry Bridges is a wise godly man.

Chuck Swindoll is another I go to when I want to read wisdom.

    Know that you are loved!
And thanks for coming around the Xanga mountain! ;-) :-D
    HUGS!!! :-)

  • Oh...also, Joni Eareckson Tada has helped me a lot.
    More HUGS!!! :-)

  • Ha - @ Caroline(adamswoman) - again we have something in common... I loved listening to one of Joni Eareckson Tada's talks also. I saved it on my Youtube account. Very inspirational woman.

  • Hi CAROLYN ... sorry... you can tell when I'm stressed, I keep typing the wrong names... I knew that you were Carolyn... don't know why I typed Karen. I confuse you with her sometimes. :-)

  • I am experiencing what you are suffering , Carolyn . I have some ache in the low back but the walk becomes harder and harder . X Rays and CT scan said only arthritis but the RMI showed a spinal disc herniation compressing the nerves fiber in the spine . I have been really surprised! What is weird is I can work in the garden without problem but slowly. Only walking is worse and worse .
This is my own experience but it is different from a individu to another and I wish for you the best, Carolyn .
In thanking you for your visit.
    Love
    Michel

  • Good Morning again, I will definitely pray that the Lord will give wisdom to you and the medical care providers to find the cause and solution to your terrible pain. I have back and hip pain, but I can get around. I am sedentary because of the discomfort of walking and while at my daughters felt very weak. I have to see the ortho guy again or bite the bullet and walk anyway.

Again, sorry about your horrible pain.

    blessings

    frank

  • so hoping you feel much better soon ~ take care of yourself ~

  • I feel for you.

  • Sorry to hear that you are having such intractable pain Carolyn. I wonder why they didn't do an MRI. Was the CT scan done of the abdomen or the spine? MRI's are more diagnostic when there is a problem with the spine. Get another opinion if the pain doesn't subside.

  • Happy Whee-kend!
You're in my thoughts and prayers!
    (((HUGS)))

  • Carolyn -- We have some of the same favorite writers! Not really surprised, though. I just read to Mom -- Joni & Ken Tada's book -- Joni & Ken: An Untold Love Story. Excellent book! Yes, Chuck Swindoll - wonderful, too. I also love Max Lucado. He's probably one of (if not most) favorites!
I am still having lots of pain. I see my doctor on Wed. Meanwhile, God is blessing me lots, even in the times I'm confined to bed or my easy chair.
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers!
    (((HUGS-2U2 http://adamswomanback.xanga.com/ )))

  • I am not really sure why no MRI. CT scan was abdomen. I see my Doctor (who was gone all of last week) on Wed. We have called the office at least three times, and I'll share more in an email. If we don't get answers (incl. more diagnostic testing like an MRI)... we no doubt will check with another doctor. Thank you for your advice, Zakiah. I appreciate and respect your wisdom. ((HUGS)) ♥

  • Had you on my mind today.

  • I'm having a minor surgery on Monday. Should be minor if all goes well.
Also, my pooch Coop is ill. :-( I'm worried about him .
    Could use some prayers.
    Still praying for you.

    Much ♥ and HUGS!!! :-)

  • Hello Carolyn . How are you now ? Did you got a RMI ? I got one at the lower spine but now I have to have another at the neck where the spine would be too tight
I do not suffer much but it is hard to walk normally
    . I wish you a quick improvement .
    Love
    Michel
