HOMETOWN
I am enjoying the poems my Xanga friends are writing. Today is the theme: Hometown. I chose to write a free verse poem to express my thoughts on this theme.
My Hometown
“What’s your hometown?” people would ask of me.
What would I say: Could it be the place in which my life began?
Or perhaps it’s the town from which my parents hailed?
Or maybe it’s one of the other places which once I called my home?
But after I met my husband, the answer quite easily became –
My home town is here -- where my sweetheart and I are now one!

Thanks, Miriam. I too loved Billy Graham's quote (& the picture on the poster).

I was born in Detroit but left at 6 months old and went to Ca. and lived there till I was a senior in high school and I meet a little cowboy and fell in love and got stuck in Texas. LOL
I went from CA to Philippines to IL to OH (with extra times off & on in IL throughout some of the years).
Your cowboy grounded you to one spot, same as my Buckeye did to me!
I'm not that well that I want anyone to touch my foot yet.
I will get the staples out today at 10am
Sometimes I holler; I have 5 dogs and I don't see a one! Dave said,"get in the cookie jar and they're all here in a few seconds. LOL
I understand the fear of having a foot touched when it is really sensitive! By now the staples are. Out ... Yes!
Dogs can be like kids! LOL!
