A Lazy Day
It is Saturday, and although we have plans to go to a play this evening, both my hubby and I are feeling a bit "yucky"... and since I thought I'd write a poem, (and since I am so lazy and listless today), I chose to write a couplet: the easiest of the verse forms. It consists of two lines with an end rhyme.
What am I thinking of doing today?
Just resting, and thinking to say, “No way!”

If you want to watch something inspiring, here is a really special video that I posted last week on Facebook that touched me. Video
I learned how to make a cute little black heart on Xanga (& Word Press). You probably already knew how to do this, but I didn't. You type in the following: an ampersand, immediately followed by the word hearts, immediately followed by a semicolon, and you get: ♥
Yesterday when I went shopping for groceries, I picked up a couple of things that Mom asked me to get: a Razzleberry pie (made by Marie Callender) and some flowers. So I baked the pie while we were eating our supper last night (we brought home Lee's Famous Recipe chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, biscuits, and a yummy salad I'd gotten from the grocery salad bar.).
This past week my daughter-in-law posted this picture of our youngest grandchild (8 & 1/2 months). I think that it epitomizes my feelings about waiting for Spring!
And when did she start standing independently?! Sigh... before I know it she'll be running around like her siblings! My daughter-in-law put this caption with the picture: She's been staring out there for a while. I can't help but look at her & think of the movie Independence Day. Then think "release me!"
Since I haven't seen that movie, I can't appreciate the allusion to it. I assume it's humorous.
I'm closing with two pictures. The first is from earlier in the week when I took my Mom to get her haircut and perm, and then treated her to a meal at a small Japanese restaurant that I like; she loved it! The second is a picture that I took a couple of years back, but I just today relocated it, and then did special effects on it before adding the Bible verses to it. Have a wonderful weekend!

I loved the video! My parents were both teachers and it was amazing that students thought they didn't exist outside the school building! hehe! It is cold here so I made Pumpkin Curry soup for lunch - so very tasty and warms you up! For dinner I'm considering Shrimp with pesto over capellini. You pie makes me think I should go to the store and grab a pie...
I must have answered your comment to me Val, and then had it get lost when I got knocked offline! I know that I responded to this comment, but it isn't here!
That pumpkin curry soup sounds fabulous! (as does the shrimp pesto/capellini). I'd love the recipe for the soup! I ate a couple of pieces of pie with Mom over two days -- but only 1/12 of the pie each time. I bought it for her ... it is one of her favorites, and I really don't need the calories!
When I taught, I had students who thought the same thing. I believe it was when I taught kindergartners that at least one of them thought that I lived there at the school... not too surprising considering the young age.
I was going to have a quiet day then my wife told me that I had decided to go to church and had 30 minutes to get ready.
Enjoy your day.
Love the scripture and photos.
Babies and children make a family a family and make life worthwhile.

Glad you enjoyed your time at church.
Beautiful rainbow picture, too!
Have a happy Monday!
I had seen that video on CBS. Love the picture of your little grand child looking out the glass door.
I had a big event last night, and will be posting those pictures on my blog soon.
Oh Zakiah... what a tremendous event indeed! Congratulations on your successful event!
I hope you and your hubby feel better today!
Love your poem! We all feel that way at times. (Love your rhyming humor in the ()'s!
)
Love your Spring photo! Best one I've ever seen! Your sweet Grandgirl IS watching for Spring and dreaming about getting out there to run around in the grass! I can see her, now, at Easter...dressed up and enjoying the sun and flowers and so much more!
I love any berry pies, but RazzleBerry is the very berriest!
Your mom is so beautiful and looks happy!
HUGS for a Sunday!!!
♥
Hope your Sunday was a special one, dear Carolyn.
But then, you are very observant!

Back to your wisdom though, Carolyn, I can see her all dressed and enjoying
HUGS FOR MONDAY! ♥ ♥ ♥ Love, Carolyn2

Glad you liked my little poem ... including my parenthetical humorous rhyme!
I didn't know if anyone would even see it.
Mike and I felt better today, but due to the snowfall (though not nearly as bad as it had been predicted),
we stayed home and listened to preachers on the radio. We actually started out for church, and the car
slipped 3x at one of the stop signs not far from home, and then I was having trouble keeping the snow
cleared off of the windshield, so I just drove right back home!
I think you are right about my Grandbaby Quinn! (Spell checkers always try to tell me that grandbaby isn't
a word, but I think it is a perfectly lovely word, and if I coined it, I'd love to receive some credit for
such a delicious word!)
Easter as she toddles around, too!
I'd love to share a pie ... any pie you'd like with you! ♥ ♥ ♥
Thanks for complimenting Mom. She was really happy about our "girls out day" together! She loved the food and
the ambiance of the little restaurant!
PS...Thank you for teaching me how to make a heart!!!

I quite agree with the little one looking out the window!
I do sense a change in the air, I think. The days are longer and more sunny.
The Razzleberry pie sounds delicious. We also love Lee's chicken. We used to live nearer to one than we do now. I think the closest one is in Fort Wayne which is an hour away.
I think Spring is definitely "around the corner" ... in spite of the snow! Each day of the week the temperature will be moving up (if Accu-Weather is correct).
We have a Lee's less than ten minutes away from us. There's other chicken places in town, but they are farther away. We love that chicken!
oh I just love the photo of the little one looking out the window ~ priceless!
Thanks!
Hope she'll be able to enjoy some nice weather soon!
I read your post yesterday but I had to run off to the mall and work for 4 hours so I didn't have time to leave messages.
Yes, mom and dad were from back east but moved to Ca. after WW2 so dad could work in aerospace and since my two boys are Texans I do feel like I belong here and I graduated from high school here, too.
Another similarity! I have two sons as well, and they are Buckeye (as is their dad) all the way!
Thank you for the Epistle, Apostle!

Wait...you're not an apostle!
But, you are a GREAT commentle! Ha! Get it!? You leave GREAT comments, you Commentle!
♥ and HUGS from,
