Winter Indoor Fun
I have a very clever, fun daughter-in-law named Melissa. She is the mom of our three grandchildren. Although the family lives over an hour away from us and we don't get to see them very often, she (& at times our son, or some of his in-laws) will post pictures and delightful stories about our grandchildren. This blog is to show you some of the things that she has done with the children during these cold days when the oldest girl Tristen has been kept home from school due to the sub-zero, double-digit below zero wind chill weather.
The first two pictures are of the two older kids reading/playing games on their new Christmas gifts-Kindles... and of Baby Girl Quinn "looking on" at Brogan's device (I think I see a set-up!). The next two pictures show the children playing in shaving cream. The next picture is actually from autumn, but it is another example of a fun indoor activity.... they ran and hopped across the bubble wrap in the hallway. The last two show the Brogan and Tristen with one of the "ice-balloons" that they made with their Mom, and then the ice balloons decorating the front yard.
So what sorts of things do you like to do inside? This Grandma likes to (& has been) cooking & baking; watching TV; reading; keeping up with folks, playing games, listening to music, & doing business on my computer; and spending extra time with family. I have other things I enjoy doing (but haven't yet): counted cross stitch, jig-saw puzzles, and working with photos, just to name a few. Here is my inspirational thought for this blog, in honor of my daughter-in-law.

I've wanted to try those ice balloons, they look cool. The kids are all just adorable
MY DIL probably got the idea from Pinterest. I had not seen that idea before. Fun! Thanks... I do love them!
I know you are surprised!
I've heard about those balls and how to make them.
I just love my grandkids and like to know what they are into
It was new to me. How many grandkids do you have? Are they close by to you? Yep... grandkids are the grandest!
Yes, our mothers are extremely important to all of us. They teach us so much. Marines on TV cameras almost always say, 'Hello Mom.'
Very cute kids.

You're right, Frank. Even the biggest, burliest of men (unless a bad situation with a mom) will tear up as they talk about how much their mom means to them.
I'm sure you have cute grandkids too. How many children and grandchildren do you have?
Your grandchilden are cute, Carolyn, and we see they love you very much . A grandmother is so sweet.
Tristen is really the big sister and is wery kind also with her brothers .
Love

Thank you, Michel. I am truly loving being a Grandmother... and especially to such loving grandchildren!

I love the big ice blobs! They look like giant marbles. Here we don't have snow, and it hasn't been very cold. I tend to stay in more because of the rain and damp just making me achy. I love to crochet. I am currently working on a baby blanket for one of "my girls" here who is having a baby in February. I also like to make paper wreaths from old book pages, I make rugs and pot holders from old cotton fabric, and I am currently working on a wall of family photos. I tend my plants and my Pea Hater, sew and craft, spend (too much!) time on FB and do all my church responsibilities. I miss my grands a LOT! One more is coming in May! That will make 6 homegrown plus three with our adopted family! I am rich!
Funny, but I had always thought of Denmark as a place that was cold, and snowy.
I too tend to stay indoors more, due to achiness and mobility problems with snow, ice, etc.
Paper wreaths from book pages... sounds interesting. All of the crafts sound like fun. You
definitely keep very busy!
Congratulations on more grandchildren on the way! Hannah just had her third baby; Abby has
two, and I'm guessing is expecting her third. Who is expecting in Feb... and who in May? (I
assume you are expecting forward to a third adopted grandbaby?) How exciting!
